Meet Carlos

Carlos Cortes has always harbored a deep passion for community involvement. During his 17-year career serving as a law enforcement officer, where he served full-time, he was inspired by his wife, Alysia, a top Lakeland agent known locally as the “Unicorn Realtor®,” to join the real estate business. Carlos saw the incredibly positive impact his wife had on the lives of his neighbors, so he chose to leverage his pure heart and local insider knowledge to formally enter the industry. Now retired from law enforcement, he is a full-time realtor working alongside his wife to provide the best service possible. 

 

Though he works with buyers and sellers of all backgrounds, including first-time buyers, retirees, frontline workers, and military families, perhaps Carlos’ greatest strength is working for Spanish-speaking clients who are relocating to the area. He understands firsthand the struggles of starting over in unfamiliar territory — after all, he once did it himself. Carlos moved to Lakeland from Puerto Rico in 2003, a time when he lacked English proficiency. Carlos is determined to guide others in a similar position with honesty and diligence, no matter how long it may take. He considers it a gift to be able to serve his Spanish-fluent community in this way.

 

When Carlos turns his clients’ homeownership dreams into reality with minimum stress and maximum joy, he’s done his job. He’s a family-oriented real estate professional whose down-to-earth, fun approach contributes levity to a process that can so often be stressful. Driven by the joys of his business, Carlos finds pride in offering his clients hope, peace of mind, and trust that he will represent them honorably.

 

Carlos and Alysia are parents to four wonderful kids. Whether they’re attending church, taking cruises, or just hanging out at home, Carlos and his family love spending time together. He is also thankful for his other family — those he’s grown close to through church, community service, and, of course, his career.
